Deutsch: Eigentlich wollte ich Luzifer malen- den gefallenen Engel, der Hölle entstiegen, schön und furchterregend zugleich. Als ich das Bild bereits angefangen hatte, fragte ich mich, warum ich etwas malen will, was so oft bereits dargestellt worden ist, und das seit hunderten von Jahren. Heraus kam letztendlich Atrin.....der Mann aus dem Meer.

Deutsch: Er lebt tief unten im Ozean, unerreichbar für Boote oder Taucher. Graziös zieht er seine Kreise in der Tiefe, harmlos trotz seiner Größe, denn er tötet weder andere Tiere noch sonstige Lebewesen, er ernährt sich von den Mineralien des Wassers.

Deutsch: Er ist Jahrtausende alt, ein Relikt aus längst vergangenen Zeiten. Die Zeit hinterließ jedoch keine Spuren, für einen Atrin sind hundert Jahre nur ein Augenblick. Es gibt nicht mehr viele Wesen dieser Art. Viele von Ihnen können die Verschmutzung der Meere nicht ertragen, die systematische Vergiftung unseres Planeten durch den Menschen.

Seine Zeit ist knapp, lange kann er sich an der Luft nicht aufhalten. Jetzt überlegt er: Wie nutze ich die mir hier verbleibende Zeit am besten ? Es gibt soviel zu sehen hier, soviel zu erkunden.

Der Himmel ist bewölkt, ein starker Wind weht, die Wellen haben weiße Schaumkronen. Er breitet die Flossen im Wind aus, will das ungewohnte, neue Gefühl am ganzen Körper spüren.

Doch an Land ist er unbeholfen, wie ein Schwan, der im Wasser ein stolzer, schöner Vogel ist, aber an Land behäbig watschelt. Oder will er nur noch eine Weile die Luft spüren, den Sand unter den Füssen und das Gras ?
