Deutsch: Während ich damals bis nach Kairo geflogen bin und die Sehenswürdigkeiten mit dem Bus besichtigte, haben wir diesmal eine Nilkreuzfahrt gebucht. Es war einer meiner schönsten Urlaube. Am ersten Tag am Nil haben wir "Karnak" besichtigt, eine der größten Tempelanlagen der Welt.

Deutsch: Mir war klar, dass ich eine dieser Statuten malen werde. Die Fahrt auf dem Fluss "Nil" war sehr erholsam. Man gleitet dahin, das Ufer zieht an einem vorbei. Kleine Dörfer wechseln mit Feldern und unbewohnten Landstrichen - alte Steinbrüche ziehen vorbei, uralte Ruinen und dann wieder eine kleine Stadt mit Moscheen und Wohnhäusern.
