Deutsch - Letzten Sommer waren wir in Kroatien in Urlaub. Wir verbrachten schöne erholsame Tage am Meer, schwammen in glasklarem Wasser und lagen faul in der Sonne. Mehrmals verließen wir aber den Strand und die anderen Touristen und fuhren ins Landesinnere. Bei einem dieser Ausflüge entdeckten wir ein kleines Restaurant in den Bergen, das in einem alten Bauernhof untergebracht war. Es gab ausgezeichnetes Essen und sehr guten Wein, die Menschen dort waren sehr freundlich. Wir besuchten die Gaststätte mehrmals, einmal auch schon morgens. Es waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt nur wenige Gäste zum Frühstück da. Wir saßen im Garten, der Ausblick von meinem Platz hat mich zu diesem Bild inspiriert.
Englisch - The last summer we were in Croatia on vacation. We to spent nice restful days by the sea, swam in crystal-clear water and lay decayed in the sun. However, several times we left the beach and the other tourists and went in the inland. With one of these excursions we discovered a small restaurant in the mountains which was accommodated in an old farm. There was excellent food and very good wine, the people there were very friendly. In the morning we visited the restaurant several times, once also already. Only few guests were there at that time to the breakfast. We sat in the garden, the view of my place has inspired me to this picture.

Deutsch - Rechts unten im Bild ist ein für die Gegend typischer Brotbackofen, wie er früher verwendet wurde. Diese Öfen sind aus aufeinander gelegten, flachen Natursteinen gefertigt. In die Öffnung vorne schiebt die Bäuerin mit langen Holzschiebern den Brotteig. Diese Öfen sehen aus, als wären sie bis vor kurzem noch benutzt worden. Wenn man vor Ihnen steht meint man noch den Duft frisch gebackenen Brotes zu riechen, der sich mit dem Geruch nach gemähtem Gras, Heu und Trauben mischt. Man glaubt die Wärme noch zu spüren, die der Ofen verströmt. Jetzt am Morgen liegt noch ein anderer Duft in der Luft, der Geruch nach Frische und nach Tau.
Englisch - On the right below in the picture is a bread oven typical for the area as he was used earlier. These stoves are made out of level natural stones laid on each other. In the opening in front the farmer with long wooden racketeers pushes the bread dough. These stoves look as if they had still been used till recently. If one before you stands one still means the smell of newly-wed bread to smell which interferes with the smell after mowed grass, hay and grapes. One still believes the warmth to feel which the stove exudes. Now in the morning another smell still lies in the air, the smell after freshness and after rope.
Deutsch - Ganz fern weht der Wind des Meeres herüber. Die Sonne ist gerade über den sanften Hügeln aufgegangen. Lange Reihen Weinstöcke ziehen sich über die Hügel, die Ernte steht bevor, die Weinstöcke sind schwer mit Trauben behangen. Ein Pferdewagen steht vor den Reben, mit Weinfässern beladen.
Englisch - Quite far the wind of the sea blows over here. The sun has risen just above the gentle hills. Long rows of vines stretch above the hills, the harvest approaches, the vines are hard laden with grapes. A horse carriage stands before the shoots, load with wine casks.

Deutsch - Damit die kostbare Fracht keinen Schaden nimmt ist der Wagen mit Heu gepolstert. Die Sonne hat schon Kraft, es ist warm . Die Hofkatze hat sich im Schatten des Wagens zum schlafen eingerollt. Sie war die ganze Nacht in Freiheit unterwegs, vermutlich auf Mäusejagd, und liegt jetzt satt und zufrieden da.

Ich sehe ein kleine Blumenelfe, die über die sonnige Wiese schwebt. Ich halte fast den Atem an, um sie nicht zu vertreiben, den Zauber dieses Sommermorgens nicht zu stören. Man möchte die Zeit anhalten, diesen Moment mitnehmen in die Hektik des Alltags, der schon bald wieder das Leben prägt.
Englisch - The court and the hilltops of the hills shine brightly in the morning sun. Except the quiet marble of the landlords and landladies and the light noises of the bustle it is quiet. I see a small flower elf who floats above the sunny meadow. I stop almost the breath not to expel them, not to disturb the magic of this summer morning. One would like to stop the time, this moment take in the hectic rush of the everyday life which soon stamps again the life.
